What style of music do you teach?

We promote all styles of singing and encourage each student to expand their knowledge in many styles such as; Musical Theatre (contemporary and classic), Pop, Rock, Classical, Jazz, RnB. We will help students to find their unique style and assist them in learning new styles.

Do you teach kids?

Yes! We teach all ages from 3 with no upper age limit. All teachers are DBS approved.

What makes AFD Vocal & Performance Coaching different from other vocal coaches that may have previously taught me?

All of our teachers are highly qualified in the performing arts and have vast experience in teaching singing for all ages. Teachers have trained in London and have graduated from The BRIT School of Performing Arts where many successful performers have also trained such as; Rizzle Kicks, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Jess Glynne, Jessie J, Leona Lewis, The Kooks, Ella Eyre and many more.

Teachers have professional experience of working in the performing arts industry in west end, TV and professional singing productions in the UK. Teachers also have BA (Hons) in Performing Arts, PGCE, Professional Performance Qualifications, LAMDA certificate and LCM (London College of Music) Diploma.

Can I have a singing lesson with my friend?

Of course! Lessons with more than one student are more than welcome. Learning singing with a friend can help with skills such as harmony, performance and team work.

Can I leave my child during lesson?

Yes. Teachers have a current DBS and chaperone licence. Your are welcome to stay with your child if you like. Sometimes, children like to show parents/guardians what they have been working on at the end of lesson. Parents are more than welcome to watch whole lesson if required.

What happens if I can’t make my lesson?

AFD Vocal & Performance Coaching have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Please let your teacher know 48 hours before if you would like to cancel your lesson. You can do so by telling your teacher in person, email, text or phone. Unfortunately we do not accept cancellations via Facebook page, group or messenger as these can be lost. Lessons that are not cancelled within this policy maybe chargeable.

Do you offer exams?

Yes. We teach Rock and Pop examinations from Trinity College London which are held in Newcastle. Rock and Pop exams are fun, relaxed and also add UCAS points! Of course, you do not have to take exams if you do not want to.

Where do lessons take place?

Lessons are based in South Shields with nearby public transport Bus and Metro (Tyne Dock) and have street parking in a quiet cul-de-sac.

Can I pay for a block booking?

Of course! You can block book 6 half hour lessons for £50 or 6 full hour lessons for £90.
