AFD Vocal & Performance Coaching

AFD Vocal & Performance Coaching aim to deliver high quality, professional training. In order to make sure that everything runs safely and smoothly, there are a few rules that must be adhered to. Please have a read through of the terms and conditions to find out more about AFD’s policies and guidelines.

One to one and group lessons run on a weekly basis, once you have this slot this will be the same every week. AFD have a 24 HOUR CANCELLATION POLICY, any lessons cancelled after this time will be chargeable at the weekly lesson rate. All lesson fess must be paid 24 hours prior to the lesson to avoid unnecessary planning and preparation if the student fails to attend. Lesson fees should be paid via bank transfer with student’s name and date of lesson as reference. Please let AFD know as soon as possible if you need to cancel a lesson via email at

If students wish to take photography/voice recordings/videos during a lesson they must ask permission before hand and must not upload to social media if other students are in the frame/recording unless permission has been granted first. This is to ensure that all safeguarding guidelines are being met. Students must not use any footage/photos/recordings taken by/for AFD for any other teachers/schools/organisations use. Any events, competitions, exams for singing/voice will be entered via AFD Vocal & Performance Coaching only unless otherwise discussed. Please note that if the student attends other lessons/schools/organisations and they wish to enter into competitions in a vocal/singing category this must be discussed with AFD before submission and students must list AFD Vocal & Performance Coaching as their voice/singing training. This is to avoid plagiarism and also to give AFD the credit it deserves. Failure to comply will result in immediate termination of lessons.

Above terms and conditions apply plus the following; you MUST NOT record/photograph any online lessons without permission from AFD. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately. Any material sent to you during/before/after the lesson MUST NOT be shared with anyone else. The zoom link is for student use only, please do not share this information with anyone. Please note that online lessons are only available if the student is self isolating due to Covid 19. Students need to make sure that they use a laptop not a phone/tablet and enable the original sound setting. I cannot hear the student properly without this setting enabled! More information regarding online lessons will be emailed out if required.

AFD students will be able to access a wealth of sheet music, backing tracks, warm up tracks and other appropriate material needed free of charge for their studies via Dropbox. Each student will be given a private Dropbox link where all material will be uploaded. You must NOT share the link or any material given to you by AFD with anyone else. All backing tracks, sheet music and other material are the property of AFD Vocal & Performance Coaching and cannot be shared. If you require any material for another teacher/school/organisation to use please email info@afdsinging to receive a quote.  Failure to comply with this will result in termination of lessons immediately.

All students are required to have either an AFD performance dress or AFD performance t shirt for any examinations, competitions and events. Please email to place a uniform order. Students can wear whatever they like for lessons as long as their clothes are moveable. Please do not attend lessons wearing inappropriate clothing.

Please do not come to your lesson if you have COVID 19 or COVID 19 symptoms or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID 19 in order to keep everyone safe and also to keep AFD open! Cancellation policy does not apply to COVID 19 absences. All students will be required to sanitise hands upon arrival and departure of lesson. Students MUST NOT share water bottles, food, pens and so on with other students to avoid spread! All equipment used in lessons will be cleaned frequently. Please do not attend lesson if you feel too ill to sing, in particular if you have a sore throat or any other illness that could affect the voice. Please get in touch as soon as possible to either move your lesson onto zoom or to rearrange your lesson to another day when you are feeling better. This is mainly to avoid the teacher from catching an illness that could affect the voice as they won’t be able to teach voice/singing without a voice!
